A four day Integrated Project was run in November, which entailed students from each specialisation, fashion, interiors and styling, collaborating to create installation pieces for the Art Gallery of New South Wales. These exquisite pieces were made from found and recycled materials, with body offering structural support. The theme “Midnight in the Garden of Good and Evil”, based on the novel by John Berendt, was a perfect vehicle for examinations of scale, texture, emotion and high drama!
The studios were a wonderfully chaotic mess of high energy, creativity, clay, feathers, sticks and tombstones and great fun was had by all!
The AGNSW Contempo event will be held on Saturday December 6, where I’m sure a few guests may be more than a little startled by the student’s work! We all look forward to next year’s Integrated Project with great enthusiasm.
