Whitehouse makes an impression with Monet at the Art Gallery of NSW
Whitehouse students exhibited their beautiful collections at the AGNSW last month, to great acclaim by curators and the audience. Appearing on stage with Carla Zampatti, Bianca Spender, and Whitehouse graduate Daniel Avakian, the students presented an exciting finale of the event entitled “The Art of Fashion”. Rich fabrics, unusual and contemporary silhouettes adorned the Art Gallery’s main hall. First year fashion student Maddy Carroll was awarded the ‘Best Dressed Award’ for the evening. It must have been her spectacular 60’s inspired outfit and silver tights! Congratulations Maddy!

The graduating Interior Designs students are currently finaslising plans for their end of year exhibition at the design showroom of Format Furniture in Surry Hills. This exciting exhibition is a showcase of the student's major projects and their body of work over the past three years.
The exhibition will run over three days, with the exhibition launch on the 3rd of December from 6.30- 9.30pm with guest speaker Daniel Rosenbaum. The exhibition is a great opportunity for students, family and friends to migle with the industry, meet potential employers and celebrate three years of hard work.
Whitehouse Institute of Design and it's students opens a warm invite for all to attend. If you are interested in sponsorship, or would like to RSVP to the opening night event please contact the coordinating lecturer Adele Winteridge on 02 9267 8799 or adele@whitehouse-design.edu.au
First year styling students have been working on a challenging and innovative project titled "Eco Couture" in which they were required to contruct a couture gown made from recycled materials and objects. Encouraged to investigate unique fabrication and adornment the styling studio has been turned into a treasure trove of all things rubbish.
Students have created glamourous and editorial looking shoots with no more than plastic bags, straws and everyday trash. These innovative pieces along with other works from the styling department will be on display at the End of Year Exhibition next week.
We look forward to seeing everyone at the End of Year Parade!
