Students of Whitehouse Institute of Design participated in the Surry Hills Festival, held at Prince Alfred Park on Saturday the 12th April 2008. This was part of the Institute's community focus, as Surry Hills is the centre of the fashion precinct in Sydney.
Viewers were dazzled by the bright hues, luscious fabrics, sporty looks and glamorous daywear sashaying down the catwalk. The designs shown were created by the third year students Natalie Foran, Alison Davis, Julia Lindgren and Edwina O'Connell.
However, the catwalk truly came alive when Todd Heggie, one of our new first year Bachelor of Design students, danced is way into the hearts of the crowd! He was recently ranked 23rd in the world ballroom dancing champions! We'll see him again on the boards, I'm sure.
