Sunbeam Whitehouse student of excellence award $1500
Sonia Bennett was awarded the inaugural Sunbeam Whitehouse Student of Excellence Award for 2007. Sonia’s collections have been of a consistently high standard, and as a result, Whitehouse Institute of Design staff have supported her as the recipient of the Award. Sonia has also featured in the Sunbeam “Fashion lover’s guide to Ironing”, a booklet to be distributed throughout Australia which includes ironing information and tips for best ironing practices for fashion garments. Her profile in the booklet reinforces her love of design, and her commitment to her studies at Whitehouse. Although Sonia states, “I’ve already spent the money on fabrics for this collection’, the prize money will be gratefully returned to her coffers when the Award is bestowed on her on, at the Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia graduating students exhibitions, 12th November, 2007, at Paddington Town Hall.
