Whiteworks: a marriage between the Whitehouse Interior Design Advanced Diploma students and their CarriageWorks major design project
2007 marked the beginning of the first off site interior exhibition which took place on Friday 23rd of December at the amazing space at Corporate Culture situated in Chippendale. The exhibition was organised by the students for the students and was a raging success.
The students exhibited their major design projects for the site of CarriageWorks in Redfern. The project required students to analyse the site and its potential reuse, write a client brief, develop a masterplan and then design a detail module within the space.
As also part of their project management unit, students were to run and manage the event themselves. Students were responsible for designing the graphics and invites, organising sponsorship, food and beverage, the venue and exhibition- lighting and display of their work.
With over 300 people attending the event, including family and friends, industry and media, congratulations was all around. The Whitehouse Institute of Australia would like to acknowledge the following companies who have generously supported the interior design graduates of 2007.
Corporate Culture, Little Creatures, Architext, Audi, Corban & Blair, Designer Rugs, indesign magazine, Tovo Lighting, Inside Out magazine, Casella Wines and Woven Image.
A round of applause to all involved as it was a great night and a fantastic foray for what's yet to come!
