After the never-ending late nights spent completing assignments, and enduring a loss of social life, it was refreshing to see that all the hard work has paid off for former Whitehouse students Tamie McLachlan and Taryn Leibowitz, the duo behind established interior design firm Leibowitz and MacLachlan. The pair kindly paid a visit to second year styling and first year interior design students to provide an insight into the day to day roles required within their boutique interior design and styling business.
Tamie and Taryn provided an outline of how they manage to obtain and maintain close relationships with their clients, placing particular emphasis on cooperation and honesty with clients as the best means in achieving a strong result. They also provided general information about the way their business runs, inlcuding the usual timeframes for projects and the need for clear budgets to allow for successful completion to occur.
Overall Tamie and Taryn provided students with a real and honest description of what their job entails on a daily basis, which allowed students to gain a strong understanding of the interior design industry firsthand from two young and successful Whitehouse alumni.
