Grand Designs on Whitehouse | Rooms to Improve

Congratulations to the overall winner Jess Malouf who will be jetting off to London next year to visit Grand Designs Live UK!  Judging for the competition was held on Friday 21 October by Kevin McCloud, Peter Maddison, John Eussen and  Phil White (Dulux).

Finalists:

  • Jessica Malouf: A background in artistic expression has given Jessica an appreciation for eliciting emotions through the design of interior environments and bespoke and production furniture. Jessica was shortlisted for the Vivid Furniture design competition, exhibited at the Furnitex 2011 Expo and also at the Fringe Festival in Melbourne.
  • Alyssa Esguerra: A passion for contemporary dance has inspired her design which is infused with a rhythmic expressive quality located within a contemporary minimal style. Awarded Student of the Year 2010, Alyssa has a consistently high academic achievement.
  • Jessica Poole: in her graduating year of the Bachelor of Design (Interior Design) at Whitehouse Institute of Design, Australia. her background in International Studies and a passion for authentic travel experiences imbues her design with strong cross cultural references. Jessica designs highly individual spaces catering to the emotional and functional needs of the client. While studying Jessica was awarded Student of the Year Award in 2009 and 2010.
  • Caitlin Parker: From a young age Caitlin has been inspired by creative thinking and is passionate about the role interior design can play in supporting human comfort and interaction. Caitlin's design philosophy aims to find a harmonious balance between challenge and beauty. Awarded Designer of the Year in 2010, her work involves intricate detailing to achieve an elegant finish.
