Bachelor of Design Student Jessica Gorringe has been selected as a finalist for the Hempel Design Award in China. This prestigious event is a fashion design competition open to all countries around the world. This is very exciting news as Jessica will be taking her designs, transforming them into final garments and representing us - Whitehouse, in China. Each year the Hempel Award has a specific theme, in 2008 the theme is "Chinese Characters". Jessica has chosen to focus on 'line' whilst also printing chinese characters onto the sheer sections of the garment and taking influence from Chinese garb. Jessica has worked tirelessly during her summer holidays in the sewing rooms at Whitehouse to work on her garment. Great to see our students competing in such a large, and globally recognised competition!
