Portfolio Development Workshops

Whitehouse offers specialist Portfolio Development & Presentation Workshops to assist you prepare for your interview at both our Sydney and Melbourne campuses. These workshops will assist participants to prepare for further studies in design.

Creative Portfolio Development Workshop – 2 Days

The Creative Portfolio Development Workshop has been designed for those who need assistance in completing the Portfolio Assessment Task in preparation for a Whitehouse Bachelor of Design interview, it will also see you develop pieces of work for inclusion in your portfolio, and a session on portfolio presentation covering layout and mounting techniques.

FAQ's

Q: Is this workshop for beginners?

A: If you have no previous illustration or creative arts experience, we would recommend you enrol in a Design Beginnings Foundation Workshop to develop your skills in this area. This workshop is designed for those who already have skills in illustration and the creative arts - either through school or other short courses.

Q:  What do I need to bring?

A: You will need to supply your own A3 Display Portfolio (available at most art supply stores and newsagents), examples of your illustrations and creative artworks, lead (2B) and coloured pencils, eraser, scissors, glue stick, sharpener and a ruler (min 30cm).

 

Portfolio Presentation Workshop – 1 Day

The Portfolio Presentation Workshop has been designed for those who already have enough creative pieces of work to fill a folio, but need assistance to present the work in a cohesive and professional manner. Presentation techniques including layout and mounting will be covered in this workshop.

Q: Who is this worskhop for?

A: This workshop has been developed for students in Year 12 who are applying for further or tertiary study at Whitehouse or any other Creative Institute. The workshop is also suitable for those mature age applicants who wish to put a portfolio of their existing work together in a cohesive and professional manner.

Q:  What do I need to bring?

A: You will need to supply your own A3 Display Portfolio (available at most art supply stores and newsagents), pieces of your illustrations and creative artworks that you would like to include in your portfolio, lead (2B) and coloured pencils, eraser, scissors, glue stick, sharpener and a ruler (min 30cm).

* All workshops will run from 10am to 3.30pm with a 1-hr lunchbreak
