"La vie" - of Kristy Savidis Whitehouse Graduate

Fashoin graduate Kristy Savidis finished at the Whitehouse Institue of Design, Australia in 2005. She has been following the yellow brick road of fashion to what is her emerald city, where she has been working for Gordonsmith Marketing in the design department. Her ruby shoes have had her frolicking through 4 years of working as a design assistant, whether it be sampling, sourcing fabric, doing fittings, or conversing with agents, Kristy has professionally undertaken everything that has been thrown at her. Now like the whirl wind that the fashion industry is she has now taken on another role as designer for "la vie...the life".

"La vie" is a label fathomed into existence through what the team at Gordonsmith Marketing saw as a niche in the women 'lifestyle' wear sector. The product is unfolding as a layered and comfortable escapist brand, with natural fabrics such as cottons, linens, rayon's and silk blends. The competitive price of "La Vie" is setting it aside in the market place, as well as their vast demographic of 20 year olds to 50 year olds.

Mininalism is part of Kristy Savidis style, the designers that have most influenced her have been Alexander Wang, Vanessa Bruno, and Paul Smith. Likewise her boss Kara Davis is also a Whitehouse graduate. Together with the management team they are in charge of organising production, pattern making, quality control... the list goes on.

In the future the tornado of designs from Kristy Savidis will be felt all over the world! And the future of "la vie" is looking promising! Currently "la Vie" is already stocked in Myer and for the winter season they have been picked up by even more boutiques, as well as for the online shopper www.birdsnest.com.au.

Kristy has learnt that Fashion is a lot more that the glitz and glamour of the yearly fashion parades! She has learnt that hard work is as valuable to a collection as valium and velcro are to a fashion show. It is a business, that takes time an energy!  "la vie..the life" is Kristy Savidis' yellow brick road to more colossal success.
