2003 - Daniel Avakian

Graduating in 2003, he was awarded a 1st prize scholarship to complete a Masters programme at Accademia Italiana Arte Moda in Florence Italy, where he refined his skills in tailoring and couture, graduating with 1st class honours in 2005.

Daniel then moved to East London where he worked as a freelance designer and pattern-cutter for various labels such as Johnathan Saunders, Giles Deacon and Alice Temperly, to name a few. In 2006 he moved back to Australia to work with designer Alex Perry, whom he had previously worked with before moving to Italy. 2007 saw the launch of his self-titled label 'Daniel Avakian' evolve from a desire to branch out and be experimental.

He is now Australia's newest and innovative fashion designer having showed his debut collection at the 2007 Rosemount Australian Fashion Week.
